Image schemas represent the connection between everyday human experiences and cognitive processes. Through this interaction, new interpretations of textual imagery emerge. Analyzing these schemas in the metaphors of the Holy Qur'ān reveals the conceptual structures and complex semantic layers of its verses. This study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach within the framework of cognitive linguistics to examine image schemas in Surah Ṣād, based on Johnson’s (1941) theory. The research corpus consists of the text of Surah Ṣād, which includes narratives of prophets inherently involving motion, change, and power dynamics—thus providing a basis for investigating motion and power schemas. In this process, containment, motion, and power schemas are extracted, addressing the following questions: Which of these three schema types are present in the surah, and to what extent can they serve as a suitable model for studying Qur'ānic metaphors? Quantitative analysis and classification of the data reveal that among image schemas, containment and motion schemas occur most frequently, while among multi-dimensional composite schemas, the containment-motion schema is the most prevalent.
