This article tries to answer these questions by studying functions in Quran's stories according to Propp’s view: do thirty one functions found by Propp all be found in Quran’s stories? Can Quran's priorities be defined by noticing the found functions? What are the similarities and differences between the text of Quran’s stories and other ones? As a whole, function is an act of a character defined according to its importance for the course of the action and is the smallest constituting part of a fairy story according to Propp's approach. The analysis of the data collected from Safavi’s translation of Quran’s stories show that: 1) all Propp's functions can be found in Quran’s stories, but their natures are different and some of these functions in The Quran have some kinds which are not considered as important by Propp in the development of stories. Drawing norms (DOS and don'ts), reconnaissance and delivery of beliefs and trying for the correction of false ones, the individuals' lacks and their liquidations, the villainy of misleading people and their punishment, and reception of some magical agents as signs improving the accuracy of the prophets' speeches are the main priorities in The Quran. In spite of some similarities including: application of the general functions found by Propp in the story development, existence of pairs such as reconnaissance-delivery, villainy- punishment and lack-liquidation, some differences are also observable. Some differences in the nature of reconnaissance and delivery, magical elements and the spiritual given rewards have been discovered.
